(Baonghean.vn) - On August 1, the Provincial Military Command and the Nghe An Border Guard Command inspected and directed affiliated units to coordinate with localities to implement measures to be ready to respond to storm No. 2, which is forecast to make landfall tomorrow afternoon, August 2.

Up to now, the units have deployed 100% of their troops on duty at the barracks, ready to rescue the people in the area when the storm makes landfall; Proactively preparing medicine, military equipment, food for soldiers and people in the area; Accumulating fuel, checking the technical coefficients, safety status of ships, boats, motorbikes, equipment, and rescue vehicles; Bracing houses, warehouses, stations, trees, and dispatching troops to the communes; The core militia and self-defense forces in the communes and wards are ready to participate in helping people evacuate their assets and vehicles before the storm makes landfall...

The Coast Guard is also required to maintain regular contact with ship and boat owners to promptly handle any bad situations that may arise; count and report all people and fishing boats operating at sea; maintain the number of personnel and equipment on duty according to regulations to be ready to respond when required.

According to statistics, Nghe An province currently has 3,488 vehicles/17,440 workers directly exploiting seafood. As of 05:00, August 1, 2020, there were 596 vehicles/2,638 workers operating in the coastal area of Nghe An; 95 vehicles/640 workers operating in coastal areas outside the province (Quang Ngai 19 vehicles/175 workers, Da Nang 50 vehicles/285 workers, Vung Tau 26 vehicles/180 workers); 83 vehicles/661 workers in the common fishing area; 2,714 vehicles/13,501 workers are anchored at the port.
All vehicles operating at sea have received notice of the location and direction of the storm, to proactively avoid and find safe shelter.
