Lost 800,000 VND to buy drugs and got 1 year in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - Truong Van Tu is a drug addict. Tu bought a pink pill worth 800,000 VND and then went to an abandoned house in Loc Tien village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Hop) to prepare to use it when he was discovered and arrested.
On the morning of July 28, the People's Court of Quy Hop district opened a first-instance trial of the criminal case against Truong Van Tu (born in 1995), residing in Hop Tien village, Chau Tien commune, for the crime of "Illegal possession of drugs".
According to the indictment, at about 2:55 p.m. on April 3, 2021, Chau Tien Commune Police (Quy Hop) received a report from the public about Truong Van Tu showing signs of suspected illegal possession of drugs in an abandoned house in Loc Tien village.

Chau Tien Commune Police conducted an inspection at an abandoned house in Loc Tien village and discovered and seized in Tu's hand a silver foil package containing a pink tablet suspected of being Methanohetamine. Therefore, Chau Tien Commune Police drew up a record of the crime and seized related evidence to investigate and clarify.
The appraisal results concluded: The pink tablet sample seized from Truong Van Tu was sealed and sent for appraisal as Methamphettamine, weighing 0.1 gram.
In court, Tu confessed that he was a drug addict, so in order to have drugs to use, Tu bought a pink pill worth 800,000 VND from a strange man at Sang Le intersection (Tam Hop commune) and then went to an abandoned house in Loc Tien village (Chau Tien commune) to prepare to use it, but was discovered and caught red-handed by Chau Tien commune police.
Considering that Truong Van Tu confessed honestly, the jury sentenced the defendant to 12 months in prison for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
