According to Mr. Tran Minh Quan - Head of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Quynh Luu district, the test sample of a dead pig at the family of Ms. Ha Thi Ngai, hamlet 5, Quynh Hoa commune on the afternoon of March 16, the veterinary agency of region III had the result of negative for African swine fever.

Mr. Quan added that from March 17 to early morning of March 18, no locality in Quynh Luu district reported any more pigs dying from disease.

Currently, localities in Quynh Luu district are checking pig herds and instructing farmers to report when pigs die due to disease so that specialized agencies can promptly collect samples for testing.

Mr. Hoang Van Bo - Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee requested that the communes should review and re-examine the use of lime powder and Belcocid chemicals to ensure effective disease prevention. The functional forces of the communes must strictly comply with the regulations on disease prevention and control, and absolutely not allow the transportation of pigs and pork products in and out of the epidemic area.
