Great tips to double your Android phone speed

New super products like Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G5... are coming out promising lightning fast speed so you feel your old Android smartphone is slower. However, if you follow the simple instructions below which only take a few seconds, your Android smartphone will be almost twice as fast.

Last weekend, you probably heard about a nifty free Android app called Chromer that will speed up your Android phone. Chromer lets all the apps on your phone use Chrome custom tabs to load web pages faster than before. Web pages are usually slower to load than the content on your phone itself.

There are also other ways you can speed up your Android phone, such as deleting the Facebook app, removing animations.

Android smartphones contain a menu of secret options available only to developers. So by tweaking these settings, you can double the speed of your phone.

To do this, all you need to do is:

1. In Settings - Settings, on your Android phone, scroll down and click About phone - About phone.

2. Find Build number - Version number and click on it 7 times continuously

3. Press the Back button and you will see the new Developer options menu above the About phone section.

4. Inside the Developer options menu, scroll down and find the following three settings: Windows animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale. By default, each of these is set to 1x. Open each one and change 1x to .5x.

Now animations will appear twice as fast as before and it will feel much faster. This tweak will not affect the battery life of the device. If you want to go back, just go back to that menu and set everything back to 1x.

Also note that you can tweak any one of the three menu items above, but then not all small animations will run twice as fast as normal, so it is recommended that users tweak all three menus above.
