Cao Thang Street was invested in and completely renovated by Vinh City to become the first night street in Nghe An with the hope of being the locomotive in developing the night economy in the city. However, the operation of Cao Thang night street has not been very smooth. Although it officially opened in October 2019, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the night street was forced to temporarily suspend operations for a long time.

By July 2022,Cao Thang night streethas officially reopened with a new, more spacious and friendly appearance, serving the entertainment, shopping and recreation needs of residents and tourists when returning to Vinh City.

Currently, Cao Thang night street has 29 households registered to do business with 2 main industries. The section from Tran Phu street to Nguyen Xien street includes 12 households doing business with shoes, ready-made clothes. From Nguyen Xien street to Le Hong Son street, there are 17 households registered to do business in food, snacks, and drinks of all kinds.

During the process of re-opening until now, Cao Thang night street is currently facing some difficulties in operation such as some small traders not doing business in the registered location, the number of items needs to be diversified, the issue of ensuring the environment on Le Hong Son street next to Cao Thang street needs to be focused on.

Objectively speaking, Cao Thang night street created a strong effect when it first started operating, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit, experience, and shop, and the number of registered traders skyrocketed. However, due to changes in shopping habits, especially after the pandemic, plus difficulties in the operation process, Cao Thang night street is no longer able to maintain its position as in the early days. Currently, Vinh City and the Night Street Management Board are still focusing on implementing solutions to maintain the effective operation of this street.

According to records, although the number of customers at ready-made clothing stalls has decreased compared to before, the food, beverage and beverage stalls are still crowded.

Mr. Phung Duc Binh - the owner of a food stall at Cao Thang night street said: I have been in business since the night street opened for more than 3 years, the number of customers at the restaurant is still relatively stable and more bustling on weekends. Most dishes only cost a few tens of thousands of dong, so they are suitable for many people's budgets, especially young people.

In addition, in recent times, in addition to enjoying the cuisine, the night street has organized many art programs and music live shows to serve the people and tourists, creating an impression in the hearts of the audience. Since the time of re-opening, the items at the night street have been continuously renovated, including upgrading the roof system, billboards, music stages, cameras, and currently the night street is preparing to install free wifi to serve the people.

In the long term, the Night Street Management Board said it will create maximum conditions for businesses to register to operate at Cao Thang Night Street with many incentives such as free electricity, environmental sanitation fees, and priority for business locations according to demand. New registrations will be flexibly exempted from business fees for a certain period of time. In addition, the Night Street will upgrade its warehouse so that small traders in other localities can rest assured when bringing their products to sell at the Night Street.

Regarding environmental sanitation and urban order, Vinh City will direct functional forces and wards and communes to regularly and resolutely take action to ensure the environment at Cao Thang night street, and resolutely handle the encroachment of businesses on Le Hong Son Street. Cases that have registered to do business at the night street but operate at other locations will be reviewed and will be handled according to regulations. In addition, Vinh City will also direct small traders to diversify their business items at the night street as well as maintain art programs to serve people and tourists coming to this street./.
