Prolonged heavy rain, some localities in Nam Dan were flooded
Heavy rain lasting from last night to this morning, September 23, caused river water to rise, causing localized flooding in many areas in Nam Dan.

On the morning of September 23, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Phuc Cuong Commune (Nam Dan) said that the Lam River section flowing through the commune is currently rising, but not rising quickly, about 2cm per hour. In the commune, 2 hamlets, Quang Thai and Dong Tho, have been partially flooded, water has flooded residential roads, inundating households' gardens. The flooding has made it difficult for households to travel.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa said: "Currently, the water has not flooded into houses, only flooded residential streets. The river water has risen but slowly, we have directed the forces to stick to the weak points, closely monitor the weather and the hydropower plant's flood discharge plan to promptly evacuate people in case of emergency.
This morning, due to heavy rain, schools in the area have closed; we recommend that people limit going out unless absolutely necessary; inventory assets and be ready to evacuate when necessary.

In Thuong Tan Loc commune, due to the characteristics of the hamlets near the foot of Thien Nhan mountain, in the face of prolonged heavy rain and high risk of landslides, the commune has mobilized 8 households to evacuate. Specifically: 1 household in Thanh Tan hamlet, 3 households in Phu Loc hamlet and 4 households in Dai Loc hamlet. At the same time, propaganda, mobilization and reminders were made to households at risk to be ready to evacuate when necessary.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long - an agricultural land officer of Thuong Tan Loc commune said: "This morning, 8 households were evacuated from high-risk landslide areas to their relatives' houses. The commune's forces are closely monitoring the area and are ready with plans under the motto "4 on-site" when emergency situations arise."
