Nghe An young man leads daring drug ring

On June 2, the Investigation Police Agency of Quy Chau District Police said that on the first day of implementing the Plan to respond to the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control, the unit coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1.48 (Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Police) to eradicate a drug trafficking ring with a large quantity of drugs to northern provinces and cities for consumption, arrested 1 subject, seized 1,000 synthetic drug pills and 37 grams of heroin.

Accordingly, at the end of May 2020, through the work of grasping the situation, the detectives of Quy Chau District Police discovered a subject in the area who regularly connected and colluded with prominent criminal subjects from other provinces, mainly from the North, forming a drug trafficking line across the province, causing instability in the security and order situation, making the people extremely confused and worried.

After a period of investigation, clarification, and identification of the subjects involved in the network as well as the methods and tricks of operation of the subjects, Quy Chau District Police have planned to fight and destroy it.

At around 2:00 p.m. on June 1, the Task Force identified the main subject in the ring who had begun transporting drugs from Que Phong district through Quy Chau district to the North. The Task Force arranged vehicles and forces to closely follow and arrest him. However, the subject was very sophisticated and cunning, frequently changing vehicles and clothing characteristics in order to "lose the tail" of the authorities. During the monitoring process, when the subject was seen getting on a passenger bus to travel to the North, the Task Force coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1.48, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police to intercept and arrest him.

At 4:30 p.m. the same day, on National Highway 48 in Dong Hieu Commune, Thai Hoa Town, Nghe An Province, Quy Chau District Police coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1.48 to block and stop a passenger car, quickly controlled and successfully arrested Lo Hoang Anh (born in 1994), residing in Binh 2 Village, Chau Binh Commune, Quy Chau District, seizing 1,000 synthetic drug pills and 37 grams of heroin from him.

At the police station, through initial questioning, the suspect confessed to his crime and also confessed to several other people in the inter-provincial drug ring. The case is currently under further investigation.
