(Baonghean.vn) - On April 14 and 15, in Mon Son commune (Con Cuong), the Mon Son - Luc Da Festival took place to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Mon Son Party Cell - the first cell in the Western region of Nghe An.

In early 1931, the Central Region Party Committee sent a number of party members to the Muong Qua - Mon Son region to build a revolutionary movement. Here, the comrades contacted and enlightened comrade Vi Van Khang, a young Thai ethnic man with education and a well-off family. After that, the Mon Son Party Cell was established, consisting of 05 party members with Vi Van Khang as Secretary. From 7-8/1931, the Cell gathered forces to conduct demonstrations and went to the houses of landlords and canton chiefs, taking rice and money to distribute to the poor.

To remember the tradition of the homeland, every year the cadres and people of Muong Qua (including 2 communes Mon Son and Luc Da) organize a festival to review a heroic historical period, educate the tradition of revolutionary struggle. At the same time, strengthen the exchange and solidarity between ethnic groups and preserve and promote the national cultural identity.
