The US is one of the largest and most demanding import markets in the world. However, with constant efforts, domestic mattress manufacturers have been building an increasingly high reputation in this market.

Export potential of Vietnamese mattresses

According to the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ARNPC), which includes 11 member countries that are key rubber producing countries in the world, Vietnam is one of the four largest rubber producing countries with increasingly rapid growth. Meanwhile, estimates from the Center for Information Technology and Statistics (CIS) show that the volume of rubber exports in the first 8 months of 2016 reached 701 thousand tons with revenue equivalent to 880 million USD, an increase of 10.4% in volume compared to the same period last year.

With the great advantage of local raw material areas, it is not surprising that Vietnam's rubber mattress manufacturing and exporting industry has grown strongly and built a respectable reputation. In terms of class, "made in Vietnam" rubber mattress products, with the ability to meet most of the strict international quality standards, are not inferior to any mattress exporting country in the world.

This is not an overnight thing but a long-term process of exploration, research and efforts to improve quality and design to meet the market needs of the big names in the mattress industry.

Domestically, consumers are familiar with names such as Lien A, Kymdan, Van Thanh… when referring to rubber mattresses. But in the export sector, especially to the US market, Lien A holds a very large market share with 98% of Vietnamese mattresses exported to this market (according to data reported by the US International Trade Commission USITC). Their achievements do not stop there but are increasingly spreading to 34 other countries and territories in the world.

Meet international standards to enter the US

The US is a country with very strict import regulations, especially for products directly related to the health of users such as natural rubber mattresses. Therefore, to be accepted by the US market, Vietnamese natural rubber mattresses must achieve internationally recognized quality certifications such as ECO and LGA.

According to eco-INSTITUT Germany GmbH - an independent and honest organization in the inspection activities to ensure according to ISO/IEC 17025 standards in Germany - to achieve ECO certification in the production of natural rubber mattresses, natural rubber materials must not contain ingredients that cause cancer, cause gene mutations, or genetic defects, not cause death or toxicity if swallowed, inhaled, not harmful to internal organs, respiratory, not cause allergies...

Meanwhile, the LGA certification - managed by TÜV Rheinland AG, a global provider of technical and safety services, headquartered in Cologne, Germany, sets strict requirements for the durability and resilience of mattresses. They test the resilience and strength by dropping a weight of about 150kg on the mattress and pressing it down continuously about 60,000 times. The change in height and hardness after the impact is the index to evaluate the resilience of the mattress.

In addition, there are many other standards such as antibacterial, fireproof, mold resistant...

Surpassing all the above strict evaluation standards, all Lien A products have achieved prestigious ECO and LGA certifications and become the first Vietnamese enterprise to have 100% of rubber mattress products meeting international standards accepted in the US market.

In addition, the role of a member of the International Bedding Products Association (ISPA) - an international association that brings together prestigious mattress and bed manufacturers worldwide, allows Lien A to continuously update international technical standards to serve both international and domestic users. The most typical is the new innovation of the Classic natural rubber mattress line, keeping the natural white color of rubber, not using colorants to minimize the risk of skin irritation, minimizing the common bad smell of rubber to make users most comfortable when sleeping.

Nệm Classic cải tiến giữ màu trắng hoàn toàn tự nhiên của cao su, bảo đảm sức khoẻ người dùng.
The improved Classic mattress retains the completely natural white color of rubber, ensuring the user's health.
