On the morning of December 29, under the chairmanship of comrades: Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister; Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Agriculture and Rural Development sector held an online conference to summarize 2021 and deploy the plan for 2022.

In 2021, with high determination and efforts to rise up, the whole industry has proposed solutions.safe adaptation, flexible and creative to overcome many difficulties and challenges from "abnormal situations" of production and business practices, in order to achieve industry development goals. The industry's total added value in 2021 is estimated to increase by about 2.85 - 2.9%, the rate of communes meeting new rural standards is 68.2%; the industry's total export turnover reaches 48.6 billion USD.

Reporting at the conference on the results achieved by Nghe An in the past year, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu stated: In 2021, in the context of facing many difficulties due to the impact of climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic, thebasic indexAgriculture still completed and exceeded the plan; the economic structure within the sector shifted in the right direction.

Remarkable,growth rateTotal agricultural products reached 5.59/plan 4.5-5%, the highest ever and the highest in the North Central region. Total grain crop output reached 1.246 million tons. Accumulated to the end of 2021, the whole province had 300/411 communes meeting new rural standards, 7 district-level units meeting standards, completing the task of building new rural areas.
In 2022, Nghe An set a target of increasing the growth rate of total agricultural, forestry and fishery products by 4.5 - 5.0%.

Concluding the conference, acknowledging the efforts and results achieved in extremely difficult conditions due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, contributing significantly to the country's positive growth as well as stabilizing people's lives, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also pointed out the shortcomings and limitations of the industry.Agriculture and Rural DevelopmentAt the same time, it also highlights the difficulties that the industry is forecast to face in 2022, such as the strong impact of climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic, plant and animal diseases, etc.
“The whole industry must focus on drastically restructuring towards increasing added value andsustainable development, associated with transforming the growth model and building new rural areas towards building ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and civilized farmers," the Prime Minister emphasized.
