(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Education and Training of Vinh City has decided to let students in the entire city stay home this morning (October 30) due to widespread flooding caused by rain.
Heavy rain that lasted all night and early this morning (October 30) caused widespread flooding in Vinh city and many other localities in the province.
Heavy rain has flooded many streets in Vinh City such as: Doc Thiet, Hong Bang, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Tran Phu, Ly Thuong Kiet, Phan Boi Chau, Tran Hung Dao, Ngu Hai, Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Xuan On, Nguyen Xi, Phan Chu Trinh, Dinh Cong Trang, Pham Dinh Toai intersection with Highway 32, Hung Dung market area... Water has entered many houses in the upstream area of Nai bridge (block 2, Truong Thi ward), block 13, Ben Thuy ward... since 3:30 this morning. It is forecasted that heavy rain will continue today, affecting the travel of people and students.
Faced with this reality, early this morning, Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Thao - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City said: All schools in the area have been notified to let students stay home to ensure safety.

Previously, since yesterday, Do Luong, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, and Con Cuong districts have announced that students will be off school due to floodwaters. In particular, a school in Thanh Chuong was flooded nearly 1 meter into the school yesterday evening.
