Nghe An 310,500 good farming and business households

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 8 in Cua Lo town, Nghe An Farmers' Association held a conference to review the association's work and farmers' movement in the first 6 months of the year, deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year and some related contents.

In the first 6 months of the year, districts, cities and towns have recruited 5,125 members, bringing the total number of farmer members in the province to 518,172 people. In the past 6 months, the Association at all levels has promoted service activities to support farmers, signing contracts with fertilizer factories to supply over 15,000 tons of various types of fertilizers in the form of deferred payment with a total amount of over 100 billion VND.

At the same time, coordinate with banks to guarantee loans for farmers to produce and do business. Up to now, the Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have guaranteed loans to farmers through the Agricultural Bank with outstanding loans of 374,265 million VND for 2,090 members. Entrusted through the Social Policy Bank for poor farmers and policy beneficiaries to borrow loans by the end of May 2016, outstanding loans reached 2,048,080 million VND, an increase of 26.5 billion VND compared to the beginning of 2016.

Leaders of the Provincial Farmers' Association presented flowers to members who were recently elected as delegates to the Provincial People's Council.

In the first 6 months of the year, the whole province had 310,500 farming households registered to become good production and business farmers at all levels. In addition, the association at all levels actively mobilized and guided members to produce in the direction of concentrated cultivation, linking production according to product chains, and applying advanced science and technology in production.

Since then, many models with high economic efficiency have emerged, such as the model of raising goats for meat in Nghia Dan, combining livestock farming with forest planting in Tan Lac (Quy Chau), building greenhouses to grow off-season vegetables in Vinh City, growing high-quality oranges in Minh Hop (Quy Hop), growing mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms in Thai Son (Do Luong)...

The super-laying chicken farming model of Mr. Nguyen Duc Luan - a member of the Farmers' Association of Dong Vinh Ward (Vinh City), has a net profit of more than 200 million VND/year.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Executive Committee of the Association set the goal of continuing to build a strong Association at all levels, organizing service activities, consulting, and vocational training for farmers.
