(Baonghean.vn) - Due to tropical depression, Nghe An province prohibits all boats and means of transport from going to sea from 9:00 p.m. on September 1, 2019. Boats operating at sea must return to shore and anchor to ensure safety before 9:00 a.m. on September 2, 2019.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue at 7:00 p.m. on September 1, 2019 issued telegram No. 06/CD.UBND on prohibiting ships from going to sea during the tropical depression. The content of the telegram clearly states:

According to the forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting: In the next 24 hours, the tropical depression in the East Sea will move mainly in a westerly direction, traveling 20-25km per hour and is likely to strengthen into a storm. At 1:00 p.m. on September 2, the center of the storm was located at about 19.3 degrees North latitude; 110.3 degrees East longitude, on Hainan Island. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 8 (60-75km/hour), gusting to level 10.

To ensure the safety of fishermen and boats when the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm and at the request of the Provincial Border Guard Command in Document No. 03/BC-PCLB dated September 1, 2019, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requests the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the districts of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo Town, Hoang Mai Town; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Department of Fisheries and related units to urgently implement the following contents:

1. All ships and means of transport are prohibited from going to sea from9:00 p.m. September 1, 2019Ships operating at sea must return to shore and anchor to ensure safety first.09:00 September 2, 2019.

2. Use all means and measures to inform ships at sea about the developments of natural disasters, guide and call on ships to return to safe shelters or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring ships at shelters (including tourist ships and transport ships); Organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and floating houses to ensure safety.

3. Regularly report implementation results to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control./.
