For children brought into the cave by their parents to avoid the heat, they must stay near the cave entrance, because if they go deeper it will be cold and they can easily get sick.
Listen to the elders say: During the rainy season, the cave is flooded. Going deep inside the cave, there is a small stream with lots of fish climbing up, so people call it the fish cave.

In the summer, every hot noon, people would gather in a long line to go into the cave to avoid the sun, and even sleep overnight. The air in the cave was as cool as a giant air conditioner. There were no flies, mosquitoes, or snakes in the cave, because according to the people, the climate was too cold for insects to survive, so people could sleep peacefully.
Going into caves to escape the heat is a regular occurrence in Dong Thanh. Every year, when the heat is at its peak, people go into caves together. Many elderly men and women said that their grandfathers and fathers have maintained this habit since their generation.
