Nghe An: Catching nearly 29,000 tons of seafood
(Baonghean.vn) - Approximately 29,000 tons of various seafood were caught by Nghe An fishermen in the first 3 months of the year, reaching 20.8% of the yearly plan; of which selected fish reached more than 4,000 tons. The total estimated value reached more than 641 billion VND.

Fisherman Ho Ngoc Minh in Thanh Tien hamlet, Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) went to the Lach Quen Fishing Port Management Board to complete import procedures according to state regulations and said: On this trip, the crew caught 8 tons of various types of fish, estimated to be worth 100 million VND; after deducting all expenses, the profit was about 60 million VND.
According to Mr. Chu Van Tan - Head of Lach Quen Fishing Port Management Board, in the first 3 months of 2019, the fishing port received 2,858 tons of seafood of all kinds. The most of which were spotted fish, needlefish, squid... These are fish with relatively high economic value, so fishermen are excited.
In Hoang Mai town alone, in the past 3 months, fishermen exploited over 8,000 tons of seafood, reaching 25.11% of the plan, up 5.39% over the same period.

According to the Department of Fisheries, in the first 3 months of 2019, Nghe An fishermen caught approximately 29 thousand tons of seafood of all kinds, an increase of 101.32%. Of which, more than 4,000 tons were selected fish, 84 tons of shrimp, 117 tons of crab, 510 tons of squid, the rest were scad, miscellaneous fish...; the estimated value reached more than 641 billion VND.
In addition, in the first quarter, Nghe An also caught 1,423 tons of inland seafood, with an estimated value of more than 35 billion VND.
