Nghe An: Development orientation of 6 urban areas in Quynh Luu district

This is one of the contents of the Construction Planning Project of Quynh Luu district for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

According to the Project, on a total area of ​​439.78km², the planning of Quynh Luu district is oriented into 3 spatial development zones, in the direction of both connecting with the overall development of Nghe An province and effectively exploiting the potentials of the area, including: the western zone (semi-mountainous area); the central zone (plain area) and the southeast zone (coastal area).

The project clearly shows the spatial orientation of urban and rural development; industry, trade, services, tourism, agriculture, forestry and fishery.

Along with that, the Project also clearly shows the orientation of social infrastructure development: Education and training, healthcare, culture, physical education and sports; orientation of technical infrastructure development: Traffic, clean water supply, irrigation, fire prevention and fighting infrastructure, power supply system...

In particular, based on the development status, location, potential, advantages of urban areas and orientation of urban functional roles in development zoning, the Planning Project orients the development of 6 urban areas in Quynh Luu district, including 2 type IV urban areas: Cau Giat and Son Hai - Quynh Nghia; 4 type V urban areas: Quynh Bang, Tuan, Tan Thang, Quynh Van.

On that basis, Quynh Luu sets a target of urbanization rate of 42.9% in the period 2021 - 2030 and 56.2% in the period 2030 - 2050.

Regarding rural development orientation, Quynh Luu determined to build a model new rural district in the direction of developing agriculture, high-tech industry and service tourism.

In the period 2021 - 2030, the whole district has 30 communes (2 communes merged into Cau Giat town). In 2030, the rural population is about 175,000 people. In the period 2030 - 2050, the whole district has 28 communes (2 more communes Quynh Ba and Quynh Hung merged into Cau Giat town). In 2050, the rural population is about 161,000 people.

At the regular meeting last April, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee gave opinions and approved the Construction Planning Project of Quynh Luu district for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Quynh Luu district is located in the Northeast of Nghe An province, currently has 1 town and 32 communes, bordering Nhu Thanh district (Thanh Hoa) and 6 districts and towns of Nghe An, and the East of the district borders the East Sea.
