(Baonghean.vn) - Five antiques including three bronze pots from the Nguyen Dynasty and two ancient bowls from the Ming Dynasty - China, excavated in Do Luong, were discovered elsewhere and reburied in the same location 25 years ago.

That is the information given by Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien - cultural officer of Tan Son commune, Do Luong district - where the antique was discovered - at noon on June 5.

In 1994, while plowing the land to prepare for planting winter potatoes, Mr. Nguyen Ba Khoa - the head of hamlet 6, Tan Son commune (Do Luong) suddenly encountered a hard object. After digging up the soil, he discovered a set of bronze pots and 2 ancient bowls.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Khoa said, when I discovered it, the large bronze pot had a hole in the bottom, and one of the two bowls was still intact. Because Mr. Khoa's field was located behind the Khai Long temple grounds - a sacred temple (built during the Le Trung Hung period 1533 - 1788, worshiping warlord Ngo Xuong Xi - grandson of Ngo Quyen), Mr. Khoa was afraid to take it.

The Bai Dinh bowl (white glaze) of the Ming Dynasty, 28 cm in diameter, is a rare size among ancient bowls.

Immediately afterwards, Mr. Khoa reported to the leaders of the commune People's Committee. Considering the spiritual factor, the commune assigned Mr. Nguyen Kim Than - a resident of Hamlet 6 to bury these antiques at Con Dung Cemetery.

The incident was silent for 25 years, seemingly forgotten, but then these antiques were rediscovered.

Previously, as reported, on the morning of June 2, people in Hamlet 4, Tan Son Commune went to dig a grave for Ms. Nguyen Thi Noi at Con Dung Cemetery in Hamlet 2, Tan Son Commune. While digging the grave about 25cm down from the ground, they discovered a corner of a bronze pot that had been buried for a long time (suspected to be bronze pot 5 or bronze pot 7). No one knew what was inside the bronze pot.

The excavated artifacts include 3 ancient bronze pots and 2 ancient bowls. The largest bronze pot from the Nguyen Dynasty is 40 cm in diameter and 20 cm high; the second is 29 cm wide and 15 cm high; the third is 19 cm wide and 7 cm high (this one is intact).

The bottom of the Ming Dynasty bowl has a picture of the three friends pine, bamboo and plum, produced over 500 years ago.

As for the two ancient bowls, one is 22 cm wide and 9.5 cm high. This bowl has pine, bamboo and apricot paintings. The rim has beautiful detailed borders. The bowl's inscription reads: Dai Minh Thanh Hoa, meaning the bowl was produced during the reign of King Minh Hien Tong - China, who ruled for 23 years, from 1464 - 1487.

The second bowl is 28cm wide and 9cm high. This is a white glazed bowl (white enamel without patterns) also from the Ming Dynasty - China.
