Nghe An: Businesses still face difficulties with electricity and water for production

In 2018, Nghe An had 27 enterprises that established trade unions with more than 25,000 union members. Enterprises basically ensured enough jobs for workers; salary and social insurance regimes were paid on time by enterprises. Issues such as: Providing personal protective equipment for workers, issuing labor regulations, developing collective labor agreements, registering payrolls, etc. were seriously implemented by enterprises.

Some enterprises have paid attention to disseminating the law to workers. Activities to care for workers' lives have been of interest to many units. In particular, labor relations in FDI enterprises and enterprises with a large number of employees have been relatively stable in the past year. Some enterprises have had outstanding union activities such as organizing Sports Festivals, Galas, visiting and encouraging union members in difficult circumstances...

All 8 issues that businesses proposed in 2018 were received and addressed by departments and branches, such as: food safety issues in factories and industrial parks; electricity and water production in businesses; construction of social housing and cultural institutions for workers in industrial parks...

However, some recommendations have not been thoroughly resolved, notably ensuring electricity and water for production and daily life at enterprises; market issues, traffic safety for workers; difficulties in resolving policies for workers; coordinating the resolution of labor disputes; ensuring security and order in the area where enterprises are headquartered...

Therefore, the conference focused on discussing solutions to these problems.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien acknowledged the efforts in trade union activities of enterprises in the area in 2018. At the same time, he requested that in 2019, the Provincial Labor Federation should coordinate with enterprises to overcome limitations such as: Many enterprises have not established a safety and hygiene department according to regulations; some enterprises with 300 or more employees have not arranged a safety specialist; many enterprises have not organized dialogue conferences, annual labor conferences, etc.

The province is committed to having solutions to resolve the issues proposed by businesses in order to create conditions for businesses to operate effectively.
