Nghe An: Nearly 270 thousand customers receive policy credit loans

In 2016, the Board of Directors' Representative Board closely followed the Board of Directors' Resolution and the Board of Directors' Representative Board effectively directed the implementation of the Resolution's contents; creating conditions for the Board and entrusted organizations to successfully complete the goals set for the year.

By December 31, 2016, the total capital managed by the Provincial Branch of the Bank for Social Policies reached 6,738 billion VND, an increase of 275 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year, a growth rate of 4.26%. Loan turnover reached 2,203 billion VND, equal to 113% compared to the previous year. Some programs with large loan turnover include loans for poor households of 607 billion VND, near-poor households of 601 billion VND, newly escaped poverty households of 323 billion VND, production and business households in difficult areas of 180 billion VND, etc.

Total outstanding loans reached VND6,728 billion, an increase of VND272 billion compared to the beginning of the year, an increase of 4.21%, with nearly 270,000 customers receiving preferential loans. Credit quality is good, overdue debt accounts for only 0.18% of total outstanding loans. Policy credit capital has met the demand for loans to develop production and business and serve the essential needs of poor households and policy beneficiaries in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Xuan Dai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that policy credit activities have made important contributions to the province's socio-economic development achievements, people's lives have been increasingly improved and stabilized, especially the poor and ethnic minorities, remote areas; contributing to the successful implementation of the poverty reduction and new rural construction goals, stabilizing security and politics in the locality.

The 2017 mission objective is to increase capital and outstanding debt by 7-10%, complete 100% of the capital mobilization plan and the plan assigned by superiors, and reduce the bad debt ratio to below 0.18%. It is necessary to strengthen inspection and examination work and improve the quality of inspection and examination work, and at the same time train 100% of commune-level cadres and entrusting units in entrustment skills.
