Nghe An: Second consultation to establish preliminary list of candidates for National Assembly and Provincial People's Council

On the afternoon of March 18, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held the 2nd consultation conference to agree on the preliminary list of candidates for the 15th National Assembly and the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026. Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province chaired the conference. Preliminary list of 24 candidates for the 15th National Assembly

As of March 14, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province has received the minutes and the list of nominations.32 candidates for the 15th National Assemblyof all agencies, organizations and units.

However, based on Notice No. 721/UBTVQH14-CTDB dated February 23, 2021 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the first adjustment of the number, structure and composition of the XV National Assembly deputies in Nghe An province; based on the opinions of the cadre management organization on the candidates and the opinions of a number of candidates, the conference discussed and agreed to withdraw 8 people from the candidate list. The remaining 24 people were listed in a preliminary list and sent to get opinions from voters at their place of residence.

Of the total 24 candidates expected to make the preliminary list, the structure is: 16 women (66.6%), 8 ethnic minorities (33%), 10 young people (42%), 1 non-Party member (4%), 2 re-elected (15%).

All of the above-mentioned combined structures have met and exceeded the targets set by Notice No. 721/UBTVQH14-CTDB dated February 23, 2021 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Make a preliminary list of 206 peopleCandidate for Provincial People's Council term XVIII

By March 14, 2021, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee had received the minutes and list of candidates from 116/117 agencies, organizations and units that had introduced 247/251 candidates for the Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026.

Based on actual situation and quantityProvincial People's Council delegateselected for the 2021-2026 term; the organization's opinion on the management of candidate cadres and the opinions of a number of candidates, the conference discussed and agreed to withdraw 37 people and make a preliminary list to get the opinions of voters at the place of residence of 206 people.

Of the total 206 candidates on the preliminary list, the structure is: 83 women (40%), 27 ethnic minorities (13%), 4 religious people (2%); 65 young people (32%), 12 non-Party members (6%), 37 re-elected (45%).

Of all the above combined structures, only the non-Party structure is lower than the requirements, the rest of the structures meet and exceed the regulations.

Those nominated to run for the 15th National Assembly and the 18th Provincial People's Council in Nghe An are all exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; have moral qualities, capacity, qualifications, work experience and prestige to perform the duties of National Assembly deputies and Provincial People's Council deputies, and are highly trusted by voters at their workplace. They are eligible to be nominated to run for the 15th National Assembly and the 18th Provincial People's Council of Nghe An, term 2021 - 2026.

Also at the conference, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province presented a plan to organize the collection of opinions and trust from voters at their place of residence and workplace for candidates for the National Assembly and Provincial People's Council.

After completion, the 3rd Consultative Conference will be held to establish an official list of candidates for the 15th National Assembly and Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term./.
