Nghe An: 2nd round of support for households affected by African swine fever in the amount of 1,255 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said that the People's Committee of Nghe An province has decided to support people whose pigs had to be destroyed due to the second outbreak of African swine fever with an amount of more than 1,255 billion VND.

Accordingly, on July 1, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2454/QD-UBND on funding support for pig farmers whose pigs were destroyed due to the second wave of African swine fever with an amount of more than VND 1,255 billion. Including localities: Hoang Mai town, Tan Ky district, Anh Son, Nghi Loc, Thanh Chuong, Dien Chau, Nam Dan.
Currently, the localities: Quynh Luu, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Quy Chau, Do Luong, Quy Hop and Yen Thanh are asking the province for support in the 3rd and 4th phases with an amount of nearly 5 billion VND.
Thus, up to now, localities have submitted to the Provincial People's Committee a request to support pig destruction money for households in 4 installments, with a total amount of 6,537 billion VND (the first installment is over 341 million VND).

According to Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh - Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, after receiving state support, households should not immediately re-herd pigs, because the epidemic is complicated and has the tendency to spread widely, but should focus on cleaning the environment of the barn. People should switch to investing in pig farming in the direction of applying biosafety procedures to limit the epidemic.
In the province, African swine fever has occurred in 1,927 households, 402 hamlets, 147 communes, 18 districts, towns and cities. The total number of pigs culled is 7,770, with a total weight of 348,139.8 kg.
Declared end of epidemic: 45 communes of 15 districts, cities and towns.
