Nghe An completes rice distribution to relieve hunger during Tet Binh Than 2016

(Baonghean.vn) – The above information was announced by Ms. Nguyen Thi Pho Giang – Director of the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region on January 26, 2016.

On January 11, 2016, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 73 on the provision of food from the national reserve to Tuyen Quang and Nghe An provinces; in which Nghe An was granted 3,617.31 tons of rice to support people during the 2016 Lunar New Year.

Accordingly, on January 13, 2016, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 177 to allocate this amount of rice to support hungry households during the Lunar New Year 2016. According to statistics, in 21 districts, cities and towns of Nghe An province, there are 71,770 households with 241,154 people receiving rice support.

Implementing the above decisions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Pho Giang - Director of the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region said: "The State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region has arranged staff and vehicles to urgently organize the transportation and direct delivery of rice to districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province and by January 26, 2016, it was completed, more than 1 week ahead of the province's plan".
