Nghe An: More than 600 criminals arrested after nearly 1 month of deployment

After nearly 1 month of launching a peak campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2019, the police of various units and localities have investigated and solved 53 cases, arrested and handled 60 criminals, seized 8 motorbikes, 5 computers, televisions, 12 mobile phones and many other properties worth more than 750 million VND; successfully rescued 1 victim of human trafficking.

The provincial police also discovered and arrested 70 cases, 231 gambling subjects, seized more than 500 million VND and many related exhibits; discovered and arrested 74 cases, 82 subjects; seized 11 heroin cakes; 1.6 kg of crystal meth; 0.5 kg and 18,245 synthetic drug pills; 0.3 kg of opium.

Nghe An Provincial Police have arrested 118 cases, 141 subjects violating firecrackers, confiscating 1.4 tons of various types of firecrackers. Arrested 3 cases, 3 subjects illegally storing, transporting, and trading explosives; seized 105.3 kg of explosives, 208 detonators and some related evidence.

On this occasion, the police of various units and localities discovered and arrested 203 cases, 218 criminals and violators of the law on economic management order, positions, and environment; seized 17m³wood of all kinds, 4 tons of animals, 8,000 cattle and poultry, components, auto parts, computers, phones, cosmetics, clothes and many other smuggled goods with a total value of more than 2.8 billion VND.

12 wanted subjects, including the successful arrest of a number of special cases and the successful capture of especially dangerous wanted subjects, were also captured and persuaded to surrender by the police force.

In addition, the provincial traffic police force has organized 1,318 traffic control patrols on roads, railways, and inland waterways; thereby, detecting and administratively sanctioning 4,658 cases, transferring 3.9 billion VND to the State budget.

The traffic police and traffic police discovered and punished 111 cases of traffic safety and public order violations with a total fine of 46.3 million VND. Through patrol work, 13 cases and 15 criminals and law violators were discovered and arrested.

Previously, from December 16, 2018 to February 15, 2019, the Director of Nghe An Provincial Police issued an order for the Police of all units and localities to simultaneously launch a high-point campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2019.
