Nghe An rewards athletes with high achievements at the 2023 national mass sports tournament

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of departments and offices of the Department of Culture and Sports; 50 athletes participating in national mass sports tournaments in 2023.

In the first quarter of 2023, Nghe An's mass sports delegations will participate in 3 national mass sports tournaments, including: 2023 National Pole Pushing Championship, 2023 National Sports Championship for the Disabled, 2023 National Tug of War Championship.

At the end of the above tournaments, Nghe An had 50 athletes winning medals, including 34 Gold Medals. Notably, also in the first quarter of 2023, Nghe An had 6 disabled athletes participating in the 2023 National Paralympic Sports Championship and won 15 Bronze Medals.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the athletes, thereby bringing glory to the province's sports.

In particular, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports emphasized that in recent years, with the attention of the Provincial People's Committee, all levels and sectors, the Department of Culture and Sports has always focused on investing in developing sports for people with disabilities. At this tournament, although disabled athletes in Nghe An have not achieved very high results, they have left very valuable impressions. These athletes have shown extraordinary determination, overcoming fate to prove their worth to their families and society. This will also be an important milestone for disabled sports in Nghe An to develop more strongly in the future, thereby contributing a source of athletes to the country's disabled sports teams.

At the ceremony, the Department of Culture and Sports awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 50 athletes with high achievements at national mass sports tournaments in 2023.
