Nghe An celebrates the 156th birthday of patriot Phan Boi Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 25, on the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the birth of patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau, at the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site (Nam Dan town), Nghe An Relic Management Board held a flower and incense offering ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were leaders of Nghe An Relic Management Board; leaders of Nam Dan district; representatives of departments, branches, district-level organizations and descendants of the Phan family.

Phan Boi Chau's real name was Phan Van San, his pen name was Sao Nam, born on December 26, 1867, in Sa Nam village, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province in a patriotic Confucian family. Born and raised in a time when the country was lost and the people lived in the darkness of slavery, deep in Nho San's heart, he soon had the idea of patriotism and love for the people.
At the age of 16, when he passed the provincial exam, people called him Mr. Dau Xu San, that spirit further urged Phan Van San to find a new way to save the country and save the people. Phan Boi Chau founded Duy Tan Hoi and Viet Nam Quang Phuc Hoi.

The most profound impression was left by the Dong Du movement with the spirit of "same continent, same race, same culture", creating the foundation for changes in our country in the early 20th century, contributing to training a team of intellectuals ready to accept the path of proletarian revolution.
In particular, it is also an important link, a milestone marking the friendship between Vietnam and Japan in the fields of culture and education, and to this day, the Dong Du movement still retains its value in the cause of national development.

Not only a patriot, Phan Boi Chau was also a great poet and cultural figure. He left behind a huge legacy of poetry with thousands of works. With his burning patriotism, written with enthusiasm, with all his mind and heart, he moved people's hearts, urged and encouraged millions of compatriots to sacrifice themselves for a great cause, to drive out the French invaders, and save the country.

Phan Boi Chau devoted his entire life to the national liberation movement in the early years of the 20th century, and was a shining example of patriotism, loyalty and devotion to the country and its mountains and rivers. As affirmed by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh: He was "a hero, an angel, a person who sacrificed himself for national independence, revered by 20 million enslaved people".”.
