(Baonghean.vn) - After 20 days of inspection, the interdisciplinary inspection team said that at some food processing facilities, there are still many imported items such as bodies, legs, and wings in large quantities with unclear origins.

Implementing Decision 1460/QD-UB dated April 13, 2017 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, from April 17 to present, Nghe An Provincial Interdisciplinary Inspection Team has inspected the compliance with food safety regulations at 30 establishments, food production, processing, trading and catering service units in the province; worked with 03 Steering Committees on Food Safety of Cua Lo Town, Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts.
Through the inspection, the Delegation found that: Many food production, processing, trading and catering establishments in the province have consciously complied with and implemented food safety regulations.
However, there are still some establishments that deliberately violate or fail to correct errors that interdisciplinary and specialized inspection teams have previously warned about.

Regarding seafood production, processing and trading establishments, the inspection results showed that these items mainly come from products caught by Nghe An fishermen; quality is guaranteed, no toxic preservatives are used. However, the delegation also found that the majority of establishments do not have wastewater treatment systems and discharge directly into the environment.
With VietGap vegetable areas, farmers have made many changes in growing and producing safe vegetables to supply to consumers.
Regarding animal meat products, especially frozen chicken, there are still many imported items such as bodies, legs, and wings in large quantities with unclear origins and inspection.

Regarding beer and wine products: Products from craft wine establishments that have registered for production with the authorities and local governments all tested negative for methanol through rapid testing.
As for the alcohol in most food services, it is artisanal and smuggled, and a few samples tested positive for methanol.
Through the inspection, the Interdisciplinary Team drew up administrative violation records for 18 establishments producing, processing, trading food and catering services; decided to impose a fine of 56.7 million VND. In addition, the Team also handed over to Market Management Team No. 3 to impose a fine of 5 million VND on 01 establishment in Hung Nguyen district; destroyed 180 kg of chicken feet of unknown origin; handed over to Tuong Duong district to impose a fine on 01 violating establishment in the area./.
