Nghe An launches movement to use energy economically and efficiently

To flexibly adapt to the epidemic conditions in the new situation, ensuring safety in the prevention and control of Covid-19, the launching ceremony was organized in a combination of in-person and online on Zoom software and livestreamed on the School's Facebook page for delegates and interested people to follow conveniently.

The campaign aims to disseminate information, mobilize cadres, lecturers, students and people to raise awareness, thereby creating strong changes in actions on using energy economically and effectively in schools, units and communities.

March 13, 2019, People's CommitteeNghe An provinceissued Decision No. 32/QD-dated January 7, 2021 approving the plan and program for economical and efficient energy use in Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025.

The goal is to mobilize all resources to promote the economical and efficient use of energy through the synchronous implementation of tasks, state management solutions, technical support, scientific and technological research and product development, market transformation, training and human resource development... to achieve an energy saving level of 5 - 7% of total energy consumption in the period of 2021 - 2025.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy DirectorDepartment of Industry and TradeEmphasize: In recent years, the energy sector in general and the electricity sector in particular have developed rapidly and relatively synchronously in all sub-sectors and fields; closely following the orientation and achieving many specific goals set out. Energy supply, especially basic electricity supply, has met the requirements of socio-economic development with increasingly improved quality.

However, the energy sector still has many limitations. The goal of ensuring national energy security is still challenging; domestic supply sources are not enough to meet demand, energy imports are increasingly large; many power projects are behind schedule. The efficiency of energy exploitation and use is still low... while energy sources such as coal, gasoline, oil, natural gas... are gradually depleted.

Through the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade hope to raise awareness and responsibility of everyone in using energy economically and efficiently. From there, there will be specific actions in purchasing, using, and operating energy-using vehicles and equipment to bring the most efficiency and at the same time implementing energy-saving solutions, converting to high-efficiency energy-using equipment, and applying renewable energy solutions (solar energy, biogas, biomass energy...) to contribute to stabilizing national energy security.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of Nghe An Electricity and Nghe An University of Economics pledged to actively respond and seriously implement the Program on economical and efficient use of energy at the unit and spread it to many localities and communities with the slogan "Saving energy is saving family budget and national resources".

Within the framework of the launching ceremony, the Energy Conservation Center coordinated with the University of Economics to organize a mobile propaganda parade to widely propagate among the masses to raise awareness of the meaning and importance of using energy economically and efficiently.
