Nghe An issues telegram to respond to tropical depression
(Baonghean.vn) - At 4:00 p.m. on October 21, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued Official Dispatch No. 12/CD-VPTT to direct the focus on responding to the tropical depression and minimizing damage.
According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting: At 1:00 p.m. on October 21, the center of the tropical depression was at about 20.1 degrees North latitude; 123.0 degrees East longitude, about 230km North-Northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was at level 6, gusting to level 8.
Forecast in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move westward, traveling 20km per hour, the strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6-7, gusting to level 9. Natural disaster risk level 3 in the East of the North East Sea area.

To proactively respond to the tropical depression and minimize damage, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense recommends that the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue of the districts: Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc; towns: Cua Lo, Hoang Mai; Provincial Border Guard Command; North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station; Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station; Fisheries Sub-Department and agencies and units must closely monitor the developments of the tropical depression, notify owners of vehicles, captains of ships and boats (including transport ships and tourist boats) operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
Accordingly, the dangerous area in the East Sea in the next 24 hours is determined from latitude 18.0 to 21.5 degrees North; east of longitude 116.0 degrees East (the dangerous area will be adjusted in the next forecast bulletins).
At the same time, organize monitoring and counting of ships and boats operating in areas affected by tropical depressions; strictly manage vessels going out to sea; maintain regular communication with vessel owners to promptly handle bad situations that may occur; be ready with measures to ensure safety for people and property in aquaculture and seafood farming areas.
The North Central Region Hydrometeorological Stations closely monitor, forecast, warn, and promptly inform about the development of tropical depressions to proactively deploy response measures.
Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and mass media agencies have increased measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of vessels operating at sea and people about the developments of the tropical depression so that they can proactively prevent and respond.
In particular, forces and means must be ready for rescue when requested.
Organize on-duty seriously and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
