(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 15, the Provincial Election Committee held a meeting to discuss and agree on a number of contents and emulation and reward work in preparation for the conference to summarize the provincial election work scheduled to be held on June 18.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the event were comrades Nguyen Huu Lam, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee; Cao Thi Hien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Xuan Dai, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

It can be affirmed that the leadership, direction and organization of preparations for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term have been seriously and methodically implemented by the Provincial Election Committee, in accordance with the direction of the Central Government and the province, and on schedule and within the set time.

The Provincial Election Committee directs the propaganda subcommittees; the complaint and denunciation settlement subcommittee; the security and order subcommittee and the secretariat to assist the Provincial Election Committee in following the contents and task requirements at each specific time, ensuring the best task requirements.

The Provincial Election Committee paid attention to directing and providing professional guidance to the electoral units; at the same time, it resolved and handled difficulties and problems in the election preparation process, including facilities and funding for the election. The organization of the election day was carried out carefully, smoothly, democratically, safely and truly became a festival for all people.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee said that the Provincial Election Committee has directed comprehensively, ensuring the success of the election work in the province.

Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee informed about an issue related to handling petitions after the election.

As a result, the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term in the province was a great success, with no electoral unit violating the law and having to re-elect. The rate of voters in the whole province participating in the election reached 97.68%.

Voters in the whole province have elected the full number, structure and composition of 13 deputies to the 14th National Assembly (including 1 self-nominated deputy) and 91 deputies to the Provincial People's Council. The whole province has also elected 791 deputies to the District People's Council (1 deputy short of the number of deputies to be elected); 12,415 deputies to the Commune People's Council, 278 deputies short of the number of deputies to be elected.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested the Department of Home Affairs - the standing agency of the Provincial Election Committee to receive the opinions of the members of the Provincial Election Committee to complete the report to serve the Conference summarizing the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, term 2016 - 2021.
