Nghe An strengthens food safety inspection and control during Mid-Autumn Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An province requires all levels and sectors to step up inspection and examination work; focusing on and prioritizing inspection of establishments producing and trading confectionery, soft drinks, food service establishments, and street food.
On September 8, the Food Safety Steering Committee of Nghe An province issued Document No. 2834/BCĐ-SYT on strengthening food safety assurance during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2023.
The Steering Committee for Food Safety of Nghe An province requested departments, branches, sectors; provincial-level mass organizations; People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city to direct functional departments and relevant agencies and units to continue to effectively implement Directive No. 17-CT/TW dated October 21, 2022 of the Secretariat; Directive 17/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on continuing to strengthen the responsibility of state management of food safety in the new situation; Plan No. 167-KH/TU dated March 14, 2023 of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on implementing Directive No. 17-CT TW dated October 21, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening food security and safety in the new situation.

Closely coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen information, propaganda and education on ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival for all groups of food producers, traders and consumers.
Departments and agencies assigned to manage food safety shall conduct inspections and examinations according to Plan No. 895/KH-UBND dated December 15, 2022 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on inter-sectoral inspection and examination of food safety in Nghe An province in 2023 and proactively organize specialized inspection and examination teams at food production, processing and trading establishments under their management authority.
The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities of Vinh established inspection teams to inspect the compliance with the provisions of the law on food safety in the area during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023, focusing on and prioritizing the inspection of establishments producing and trading confectionery, soft drinks, traditional foods produced in craft villages, small establishments, food service establishments, and street food. Strictly handle violations and publicize the names of establishments, addresses, and types of violating products on mass media. If there are signs of criminality, propose to transfer to the police for strict handling according to the provisions of law... Organize monitoring of the risk of contamination of items used a lot during the Mid-Autumn Festival to promptly communicate and warn of the risk of food insecurity.
The People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city direct departments, offices and People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to coordinate with relevant units to prepare forces and specialized equipment to be ready to promptly handle food safety incidents, food poisoning cases and foodborne diseases in the community./.
