Nghe An strengthens connection between technology supply and demand

Information from the Department of Technology Application and Development,Ministry of Science and Technology, in the past 5 years (2017 - 2022), each year the unit receives about 400 technology needs from businesses; Searches and provides information about 3,000 domestic and foreign technology sources; Provides 374 technology expert profiles according to the needs of businesses, organizations and individuals.

The Department of Technology Application and Development has organized more than 4,000 technology supply-demand connections, both in person and online. More than 1,000 technologies were demonstrated and introduced at connection points or brought by connection points to introduce at events such as Techdemo, Techconnect, Techfest, Techmart, etc.

In Nghe An, the technology supply and demand connection point officially came into operation in July 2017. After 5 years of operation, it has promoted research activities, application of technical advances, technological innovation, and creative innovation in the province.

The unit has connected, introduced and applied research results of institutes, schools and scientific and technological organizations into practical production and business activities, helping enterprises and organizations apply appropriate technology and equipment into practical production. Thereby, contributing to improving productivity, quality, added value of products, goods and competitiveness to meet the integration requirements of enterprises.

In addition, the unit has consulted and helped organizations and localities in the province build and propose the implementation of scientific and technological tasks suitable to local characteristics, such as: Building certification labels and geographical indications; developing agricultural products according to value chains; preserving and developing valuable genetic resources; researching, applying and innovating technology in production, etc.

However, the process of connecting technology supply and demand in the province has encountered many difficulties in the past time. Connection and consulting activities are still passive; Lack of database on technology resources and experts makes it difficult to provide technology consulting and connecting supply and demand for organizations and individuals in need. There are no specialized personnel to perform the task, still have to work part-time; lack of experience and skills in performing the task. Infrastructure is very limited and the source of operating funds from the state budget is still low, the revenue from this activity is insignificant...

In the period of 2023 - 2030, Nghe An continues to maintain and strengthen the connection between technology supply and demand; diversify forms of operation, develop the science and technology market to contribute to improving productivity, quality, added value of products, goods and competitiveness to meet the integration requirements of organizations and enterprises of Nghe An and the North Central region.

At the workshop, representatives of Nghe An Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances and units and enterprises inside and outside the province exchanged and shared experiences in activities connecting technology supply and demand. They focused on key issues such as: Advantages and difficulties in developing science and technology markets; Commercialization of scientific and technological research results of enterprises; Formation and development of enterprises through activities supporting the application of scientific and technological advances...

In the coming time, the Ministry of Science and Technology will review, revise and supplement the Handbook on the operation of the Technology Supply and Demand Connection Point in order to gradually build the Connection Point as one of the intermediary organizations of the national science and technology market. At the same time, consider approving and implementing the Project on Developing Technology Supply and Demand Connection Activities until 2030, creating conditions for the development of a system of technology supply and demand connection points.
