Nghe An: 4 more districts, cities and towns present plans to merge 675 blocks and hamlets
(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, Nghe An has had Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town and Anh Son and Nghi Loc Districts complete the hamlet merger project. The draft resolution on hamlet merger of the above units is expected to be considered and approved by the Nghe An Provincial People's Council meeting held this September.
Currently, the above 4 districts, cities and towns have 1,201 blocks, hamlets and villages (hamlets), of which 139 hamlets have reached 100% of the number of households, 620 hamlets have from 50% to less than 100% of the number of households, and 442 hamlets have less than 50% of the number of households that must be merged.

According to the construction plan, it is expected that a total of 675 hamlets will be merged and 303 hamlets will be formed after the merger. The total number of hamlets after the merger is 829, a decrease of 372 hamlets. Of which:
Vinh City currently has 371 blocks and proposes to merge 92 blocks. The number of hamlets formed after the merger is 46 blocks. When completed, the entire city will have 325 blocks left, a reduction of 46 blocks.
Anh Son district currently has 252 hamlets, of which 186 are proposed to be merged. The number of hamlets formed after the merger is 89. After the merger, the total number of hamlets in the district is 155, a reduction of 97 hamlets.
Nghi Loc district has 446 hamlets, of which 338 are proposed to be merged. The number of hamlets formed after the merger is 142. After the merger, the total number of hamlets in the district is 250, a reduction of 196.
Hoang Mai town currently has 132 blocks and hamlets; of which 59 blocks and hamlets are proposed to be merged. The number of hamlets formed after the merger is 26. After the merger, the town will have 99 blocks and hamlets left, a reduction of 33 blocks and hamlets.
Previously, at the 9th session, the People's Council of Nghe An province, term XVII, passed Resolution No. 08/NQ-HDND dated July 12, 2019 on merging and renaming hamlets, blocks, and villages in communes, wards, and towns in 14/21 districts in Nghe An province, reducing 1,608 hamlets after completion.
