Nghe An: Another subject prosecuted for illegal sand and gravel mining
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite being administratively fined for illegally exploiting sand and gravel, Nguyen Van Truong did not stop but continued to re-offend. Truong was arrested and prosecuted for "Violating regulations on resource exploitation".
Nghe An Provincial Police Department's Investigation Police Agency said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Van Truong (born in 1996, residing in Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen district) to investigate the crime of "Violating regulations on resource exploitation".

Specifically, on June 1, the Investigation Police Agency initiated a case of violating regulations on resource exploitation. On June 6, the Investigation Police Agency initiated a case against Nguyen Van Truong.
According to the initial investigation, on May 25, Nguyen Van Truong was discovered by Hung Nguyen District Police and fined 1.5 million VND for illegally exploiting sand and gravel on Lam River.
On May 26, Nguyen Van Truong, Nguyen Van Thanh (45 years old) and Nguyen Van Que (20 years old), all residing in Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen district, continued to use illegal sand mining equipment on Lam river in hamlet 7, Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen district, when they were discovered and arrested by the Environmental Police Department (PC49, Nghe An Police).
The amount of sand and gravel that Truong's ship illegally exploited when caught was determined by authorities to be more than 105 m3.

While completing the dossier to bring it to trial, the authorities applied the form of banning the defendant Nguyen Van Truong from leaving his place of residence.
Previously, in January 2018, Nam Dan District Police also initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained Nguyen Trung Chau (born in 1952, residing in Nam Dan town), Director of Lam Son - Dai Thanh Cooperative, for 4 months for the crime of "Violating regulations on resource exploitation".
According to Nam Dan District Police, 8 ships of Lam Son - Dai Thanh Cooperative were caught red-handed while illegally dredging sand on Lam River. Through investigation, Nam Dan District Police determined that in a short period of time, the ships of Lam Son - Dai Thanh Cooperative illegally exploited nearly 450,000m3 of sand, equivalent to 13 billion VND.
