Nghe An: Highlights on May 9

*SOn May 9, the Government held an online conference between the Prime Minister and businesses, working together to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and restore the economy. The conference was broadcast online with 63 local points, 30 points of ministries and branches, and broadcast live on Vietnam Television.

*BThe Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of assigning 301 commune and town police chiefs tohold civil servant positions at commune level. Implementing the directive notice of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, on May 5, the Provincial People's Committee issued urgent Official Dispatch No. 2714/UBND-NC to the Department of Home Affairs; Provincial Police; District, City, Town Party Committees and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns requesting the implementation of the above policy.
Accordingly, the assignment of more than 300 commune and town police chiefs to other commune-level civil servant positions such as: Office - Statistics; Justice - Civil Status... will be completed before May 15, 2020.

*TImplementing the Government's policy, in recent times, the credit system in Nghe An has simultaneously implementedcustomer support policiesaffected by Covid-19. According to statistics from the State Bank of Vietnam, Nghe An branch, up to now, 10,418 customers have been exempted from interest and reduced interest rates with outstanding debt exempted from interest of VND 13,511.4 billion, including 667 enterprises with outstanding debt exempted from interest of VND 8,124 billion.

*NOn May 9, Yen Thanh District Police coordinated with relevant units to prepare a case file.murder investigationcausing a man to die. The victim was Nguyen Trong Vinh (born in 1968), residing in Dong Vang hamlet, Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. According to initial information, at around 11:00 p.m. on May 8, the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest by a local man, leading to his death.
