Nghe An commemorates compatriots who died, officers and soldiers who sacrificed in the Covid-19 pandemic
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 19, at Diec Pagoda, Vinh City, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province presided over and coordinated with the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province to organize a candlelighting ceremony to commemorate compatriots who died and officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province. Also attending were comrade Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches. At the beginning of the ceremony, the provincial leaders, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, monks, nuns and Buddhists observed a moment of silence to commemorate the deceased compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Covid-19 pandemic. Over the past nearly 2 years, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused heavy losses worldwide. In our country, so far, more than 1 million people have been infected with Covid-19 and as of November 18, 2021, it has taken the lives of 23,476 compatriots, cadres and soldiers, leaving behind the deepest pain for relatives, families and friends.
