Nghe An operates to discharge water from Ban Coc and Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoirs (Que Phong)
From 12:30 on September 19, Ban Coc and Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoirs (Que Phong) will operate to discharge water.
At 8:17 this morning, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 09 dated September 19 from Que Phong Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the operation of water discharge from Ban Coc Hydropower Reservoir due to the increasing flow to the reservoir.

To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from Ban Coc Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in accordance with the hydrological situation at the project, Que Phong Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to discharge water from Ban Coc Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated discharge time:12:30 September 19, 2024.
Discharge flow:Total discharge flow from 11.16m3/s - 300m3/s (Including discharge flow through the valve gate, flow through the spillway and power generation flow through the generators) can change depending on the water flow to the lake.
Discharge end time:When the lake water level is not higher than the construction water level at elevation 376m and cannot rise again.
At the same time, to ensure the safe operation of water discharge from Chau Thang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir process and inter-reservoir process on the Ca River basin, PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock Company also plans to increase water discharge from Chau Thang hydropower reservoir:

Discharge flow:Total discharge flow from 450m3/s - 1,200m3/s (Including discharge flow through the valve gate and power generation flow through the generators) and can change depending on the water flow to the lake.
Discharge end time:Until the effects of the heavy rains subside.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: People's Committees of Que Phong and Quy Chau districts; Heads of provincial Departments, Boards and Branches, and Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention of Ban Mong Reservoir.
And notify the authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the downstream areas of Ban Coc Hydropower Plant and Chau Thang Hydropower Plant to carry out necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and People.
