Nghe An: Fined 2 drivers for using personal cars to transport passengers despite the ban

(Baonghean.vn) - While passenger transport vehicles are having to stop operating according to Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, some cases have used personal cars to transport passengers.

At 11:30 a.m. on April 18, at Km 92+800 on National Highway 7A, the Con Cuong District Police traffic control patrol team coordinated with the medical checkpoint of Con Cuong town to discover a car with license plate 37A - 101.00 driven by Ngan Van C. (born in 1990, residing in Chom Muong village, Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong district), carrying 5 people from Dong Anh district (Hanoi) to Con Cuong district.

Working with the authorities, driver Ngan Van C. declared that he was taking his family members home from work in Dong Anh. However, through professional measures, the Con Cuong District Police Traffic Control Patrol Team verified and confirmed that all the people in the car were customers who hired C. to take them home.

The medical checkpoint measured the body temperature and made a medical declaration for all people in the vehicle and coordinated with Con Cuong Police to prepare a record to handle the act of "Failure to implement the decision to apply measures to limit mass gatherings or temporarily suspend business and service activities in public places" according to Point c, Clause 4, Article 11, Decree 176/2013/ND-CP, with a fine ranging from VND 5,000,000 to VND 10,000,000.

Previously, at 11:30 p.m. on April 17, at Km 92 + 800 on National Highway 7A, the Con Cuong District Police Traffic Control Patrol Team coordinated with the Con Cuong Town Medical Checkpoint to detect and fine driver Le Khac D. (born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 7, Dai Cuong Commune, Kim Bang District, Ha Nam Province) for similar behavior. At that time, driver Le Khac D. was driving a car with license plate 90A - 044.44 carrying 4 people from Kim Bang District (Ha Nam) to Con Cuong District.

An officer from the Con Cuong District Police Traffic Control Patrol Team said: While passenger transport vehicles are having to stop operating according to Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, many people have used personal cars to transport passengers between provinces.

This type of service is not only illegal, but also has the potential to spread disease on a large scale. Therefore, at checkpoints, if we detect vehicles showing signs of transporting passengers, we will resolutely and thoroughly handle them.
