(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the week "For the city named after Uncle Ho" launched by the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, people in localities across Nghe An province are donating food and provisions to "support" the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

When hearing the loudspeaker announcement about the mobilization of people to support food and provisions in response to the week "For the city named after Uncle Ho", Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Chau (79 years old), living in village 2-9, Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, went to the district Fatherland Front Committee to support the small amount of money she had saved.

Vice Chairwoman of the Thanh Chuong District Fatherland Front Committee Do Thi Hau said: Recently, Thanh Chuong people have actively donated food to support people in localities in the province heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Responding to the week "For the city named after Uncle Ho", Thanh Chuong district plans to support 15 tons of food, mainly green squash, pumpkin, jackfruit and dried peanuts to encourage and support a small part to help people in Ho Chi Minh City fight the epidemic.
By the end of day 147, Thanh Chuong had donated more than 24 tons of various goods with a total amount of more than 375 million VND. The goods included: more than 6.7 tons of peanuts; 5.2 quintals of peanuts; more than 16.5 tons of squash..., more than 3 times the initial registered amount.

In Quynh Luu district, in recent days, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Quynh Luu district have mobilized philanthropists, officials and people in the area to continue responding to the call "All for the city named after Uncle Ho". Volunteers supporting the Fatherland Front of Quynh Luu district actively classified food and fruits, packaged products such as dried fish, dried peanuts, and fried peanuts to send to the city named after Uncle Ho.

On this occasion, Hung Nguyen has donated 10 tons of pumpkin, 200 kg of peanuts, and 100 kg of dried fish. The total cost is 130 million VND. The Hung Nguyen District Fatherland Front Committee will coordinate with the Department of Transport to transport these goods to Ho Chi Minh City as soon as possible.
In the mountainous district of Que Phong, ethnic minorities also have many activities to support people in Ho Chi Minh City. The Fatherland Front Committee and organizations of Que Phong district launched and called on members and union members throughout the district to support necessities such as dried bamboo shoots, peanuts, etc. Up to now, 100kg of dried bamboo shoots and 100kg of peanuts have been mobilized and sent to the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province to be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City.
Local agricultural products from rice bags, peanuts, squash to jars of dried fish, jars of eggplants, jars of pickled bamboo shoots,... made by the people themselves are all shared by the people, towards the peak week "For the city named after Uncle Ho" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.

Goods donated by local people in the province will be gathered at the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee on July 16 to be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City as soon as possible.
Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province Vo Thi Minh Sinh shared that Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An are two localities with a special traditional relationship, not only in cooperation in socio-economic development but also in many activities demonstrating their solidarity. Over the years, whenever the people of Nghe An Province encountered difficulties, natural disasters, and epidemics, the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City have always promptly encouraged, shared, and provided great spiritual and material support to help the people of Nghe An Province overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

After 4 days of launching, according to statistics of Nghe An Provincial Fatherland Front, more than 140 tons of goods have been sent by the people of the province through the Fatherland Front at all levels to Ho Chi Minh City.
