Nghe An fishermen hit the jackpot on the first day of the new year
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to favorable weather, since the first day of Tet, fishermen in Dien Chau (Nghe An) have gone to sea to catch shrimp with high yields.

The weather has been favorable these past few days, so from the 1st to the 3rdTet, Dien Chau fishermen (Nghe An) still continue to go to sea. Notably, over 200 rafts of fishermen from coastal communes such as Dien Kim, Dien Hai, Dien Thanh have gone to sea to fish for the sea's bounty since 3am on the first day of Tet. With nearshore fishing, fishermen can return to shore in just 4 hours.

Each raft offisherman1-2 quintals of seafood were exploited, most of which were sea shrimp. Because it was Tet, seafood was scarce, so fishermen sold it at a very good price. Fishermen sold wholesale at the beach with an average price of 1 million VND/quintal of shrimp, so each raft (with only 1 person on board) earned from 1 to 2 million VND/day.

With a large catch, about 200 tons per day, in addition to being consumed fresh, shrimp is also dried along the sea dikes and used to make fish sauce. According to fishermen's experience, a successful catch at the beginning of the year signals a favorable year of exploitation, and the fishing industry will flourish.
