Caring for and supporting the elderly is the responsibility of the family and society, and at the same time demonstrates the humane traditions and ethics of the Vietnamese people. With the above meaning, the contest "Elderly Live Happy - Live Healthy" aims to create a playground and opportunity for healthy, useful and practical exchange for the elderly.

At the same time, the contest aims to contribute to raising the understanding of officials and people about the policies and laws of the Party and State related to the elderly; the role and dedication of the elderly in all aspects of life and to promote the responsibility of individuals, families and society in improving health, physical and mental health, contributing to promoting and improving the quality of life of the elderly.

The knowledge conveyed from the contest also has practical significance in helping the elderly better understand diseases related to the elderly and how to take care of their own health.

The contest “Elderly people live happily, live healthily” is a lively and useful communication program organized by the Department of Population and Family Planning for many years. In 2022, the contest will be held in Ky Son, Quynh Luu, Quy Chau districts and Thai Hoa town.

In this competition, teams from Quang Tien, Hoa Hieu, and Long Son wards of Thai Hoa town went through three rounds including greetings, knowledge – healthy living, and talent – ​​happy living. Within the framework of the competition, the organizers also had an exchange session for the audience participating in the program.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Hoa Hieu Ward, the second prize to Quang Tien Ward and the third prize to Long Son Ward. According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the teams brought many elaborately staged performances, demonstrating their knowledge, understanding skills and bringing many emotions and impressions to the audience.
