Nghia Dan district residents voluntarily donate land to expand the Western route
(Baonghean.vn) - To speed up the progress of the Western road project passing through Nghia Mai commune, Nghia Dan district, in recent days, people of 4 villages: Mai Son, Mai Thinh, Mai Lien and Chau Tien have simultaneously launched campaigns to expand the road passing through the commune with a total length of more than 6 km.
Nghia Mai is a particularly difficult commune, with more than 70% of the population being ethnic minorities. The commune has no paved roads, and most of the roads are severely degraded, making it very difficult for people to travel and trade goods.
With the State's investment in upgrading the Western route with a length of more than 6 km, people in Mai Son, Mai Thinh, Mai Lien and Chau Tien villages happily and voluntarily donated land, trees, and dismantled fences to widen the road.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan in Mai Son village, Nghia Mai commune said: “Our people have long dreamed of having a road for convenient travel, now that the State has invested, we are really happy. My family is willing to donate land and demolish more than 90m of solid fence to widen the road.”
Immediately after Mr. Tuan's family's work, many households whose road passes through were very excited and enthusiastically supported, demolished solid fences, and donated land to widen the road; typically, Mr. Nguyen Trong Phu's family in Chau Tien village donated 1,500 m2land; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue donated 1,600 m2land; each remaining household donated hundreds of orange, tangerine, rosewood, and lat hoa trees...
Mr. Nguyen Van Ha in Mai Son village, Nghia Mai commune shared: “So the dream of having a road is about to come true when the State invests. Every family is happy and supportive. From the fence, the trees along the road to the gate, my family voluntarily dismantled and donated land to widen the road.”

To speed up the clearance of the traffic corridor and hand over the site to the construction unit, Nghia Mai commune organized a meeting with the people to implement the policy. At the same time, they went to each house to mobilize and explain the benefits of road construction and received enthusiastic response from the people.
Mr. Doan Van Huan - Chairman of Nghia Mai Commune People's Committee said: "Nghia Mai has more than 6 km of Western Road passing through it, identifying this as a vital and important route for people to develop the economy. In order to promptly hand over the site to the construction unit, the commune held a steering committee meeting to implement a plan to mobilize people whose roads pass through to donate land and assets on the land. In general, people are very excited to voluntarily donate land, trees, fences...".
During the process of clearing the traffic corridor, over 200 households living along the two roads were affected, having to demolish fences, auxiliary structures, and cut down trees. The commune mobilized over 31 cadres, organizations, unions, and militia forces to directly help the affected people dismantle structures, cut down trees, and at the same time clear the road, clear the route, and build the roadbed.
The completion of the Western route not only contributes to ensuring security and national defense but also helps people in Nghia Mai commune have conditions to develop the economy and improve their lives./.
