Man prosecuted for using a shovel to hit two people who were catching frogs
(Baonghean.vn) - While catching frogs, Mr. Tuan and Mr. Tien had a conflict with Mr. Pham Van Vinh while he was looking after construction materials. Mr. Vinh used a shovel to hit Mr. Tien, causing 50% damage to his health.
On November 27, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Deputy Head of Nghi Loc District Police said that the Investigation Police Agency has just initiated a case and prosecuted Pham Van Vinh (born in 1967, residing in Kim Khanh hamlet, Nghi An commune, Vinh city) to investigate the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".

Mr. Vinh was accused of using a 102 cm long iron shovel to stab Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien (born in 1973) and Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan (born in 1984), both living in Hamlet 4, Nghi Truong Commune, Nghi Loc District. As a result, Mr. Tuan was injured in the hand, Mr. Tien suffered a torn tendon and a severed artery in his hand.
"The defendant Pham Van Vinh has a good personal history and a stable residence, so the investigation agency allowed him to be released on bail but prohibited him from leaving his place of residence," said Lieutenant Colonel Nhan.
According to initial records, on the evening of September 23, 2018, Mr. Tien brought a flashlight and Mr. Tuan held a wooden stick to look for frogs and saw Mr. Vinh at the construction site. At that time, Mr. Vinh was hired by the owner to look after construction materials at the construction site in Hamlet 4, Nghi Truong Commune.
Mr. Tien asked Mr. Vinh:“Where are you from and what are you doing here?"Then the two sides had a conflict. Mr. Tien used his hand to push Mr. Vinh in the face, then he grabbed a shovel and stabbed Mr. Tien and Mr. Tuan. Then, Tuan used a wooden stick to hit Mr. Vinh, causing the stick to break.
As a result of the fight, Mr. Tien was stabbed twice in both arms. One stab severed a tendon and artery in his left arm, and one stab severed a nerve and artery in his right arm. Mr. Tuan was stabbed once in his left arm and needed four stitches.

The victim then filed a complaint with the police. According to the injury assessment results of the Nghe An Province Forensic Center, Mr. Tien suffered 50% health damage due to the injury. Mr. Tuan suffered 3% health damage due to the injury.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that after collecting enough evidence and receiving a complaint from the victim, the Nghi Loc District Police Department initiated a criminal investigation against Pham Van Vinh for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury". The case file has been transferred to the Nghi Loc District People's Procuracy.
