Que Phong residents hope to soon put the waste treatment site into operation.
(Baonghean.vn) - After 10 years of construction, by the end of 2022, the Que Phong district waste treatment project had only completed phase 1 and had not yet been put into operation so that local people could have a place to treat waste centrally.

The Que Phong district waste treatment project started construction in Bon village, Tien Phong commune (now Kim Son town) in 2013, with a total investment of nearly 55.5 billion VND from the provincial budget, on an area of nearly 20,000m2After 10 years of construction, the project has completed phase 1 engineering from the end of 2022.
According to observations by reporters on a day in early February 2023, this waste treatment area was deserted, with no means of transporting waste. Residents living here said that although the project was completed at the end of last year, it has not yet been put into operation.
Mr. Vo Khanh Toan - Chairman of Tien Phong Commune People's Committee said that the locality is waiting every day for the district's announcement on putting into operation the centralized waste treatment site project so that the locality can have a plan to collect and transport waste there for treatment.
"For a long time, people's household waste has been treated by collecting and treating it at home, and in some places, people even throw waste into rivers and streams, causing environmental pollution. Therefore, the locality hopes that the district's waste treatment project will soon be put into operation to limit the amount of waste discharged into the environment," said Mr. Vo Khanh Toan.

According to the Project Management Board of Que Phong district, to put the project into operation, the district is asking for the opinion of the Department of Construction. After being put into operation, this will be the place to treat waste for Kim Son town area and some neighboring communes: Tien Phong, Muong Noc, Chau Kim...
Up to now, Que Phong district has not had a centralized waste treatment site, so the amount of daily household waste in the localities has not been collected and treated promptly and properly, causing environmental pollution in many places./.
