(Baonghean.vn) - For the past two days, it has been raining heavily, causing households in Muong Ai commune (Ky Son district), which had already suffered a lot of damage due to floods in 2018, to panic and pack up their belongings and run up the mountain to live in makeshift houses.

Over the past two days, the highland communes of Nghe An have had heavy rain, the water level of streams has shown signs of rising, and many landslides have appeared in Muong Ai commune (Ky Son district), a locality that was heavily affected by the 2018 flood.
In Xop Phong village, water from the stream began to flow down, causing many people to worry. This was the place that suffered the most damage from the flood in 2018.
Xop Phong village has 28 affected households forced to relocate during the 2018 flood. However, so far only 22 households have been relocated, the remaining 6 households are still living in fear because they do not have a new place to live.
Faced with heavy rains in the past few days, many households were in a panic, packing up their belongings to take refuge. "We had to move the stored belongings to higher ground to prevent flooding, otherwise we had to bring them to the new shelter to temporarily store them," said Mr. Hoa Pho Phen in Xop Phong village.
Despite the heavy rain, the remaining 6 households still diligently carried their belongings up the mountain to avoid landslides.
Most of the camps were set up very makeshift, about 2 km from the old residence, but everyone was reassured because there were no landslides.
Having just arrived at the new camp, 6 people in Moong Pho Thoa's family had to sleep together on a temporary mat placed in the middle of the tent.
Although it is only a refuge, this is the permanent residence of the people of Xop Phong village in the future. However, because they were not proactive in advance, when they moved to the new place, all activities were very difficult, especially the problems of electricity and water.
Mr. Hoa Pho Hoi said: Last year's flood season was so scary that this year, just seeing the rain made people panic and look for a way to escape. No matter how difficult it is, we can endure it, we are just afraid that the flood will sweep away people and houses.
