Poor people in Nghe An will receive gifts worth 500,000 VND on the occasion of Tet Canh Ty

On the morning of December 25, the Organizing Committee of the Program "Tet for the Poor - Canh Ty 2020" held a meeting to deploy a plan to mobilize and help the poor celebrate the Lunar New Year Canh Ty 2020. The program "Tet for the poor - Canh Ty 2020" aims to call on agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists and people of all walks of life to respond to the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary to support, donate money, gifts... to share with poor households and families in especially difficult circumstances to have more conditions to welcome the Lunar New Year Canh Ty 2020.

Through the program, contribute to inspiring and fostering compassion, solidarity, mutual support and sharing in the community.

The plan aims to promote support in cash or kind to help poor households, families in especially difficult circumstances, policy families, victims of Agent Orange, etc. Mobilize agencies, units, civil servants, and public employees to save money to support the poor to celebrate Tet.

Accordingly, each gift for poor households on the occasion of Tet is worth an average of 500 thousand VND, and groups and individuals can register to donate in cash or in kind. Units, individuals and businesses can reserve appropriate gifts to transfer to the Program Organizing Committee for timely distribution, avoiding duplication between the subjects.

The campaign period is from December 20, 2019 to January 22, 2020 (ie November 25 to December 28 of the lunar calendar). The Organizing Committee assigns members to directly campaign for support for the program and assigns local departments, branches and sectors to coordinate implementation.

It is expected that at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2020, a live TV program will be held with the theme "Tet for the poor - Canh Ty 2020" to honor groups, businesses and individuals with goodwill. Commend units and localities that effectively carry out hunger eradication and poverty reduction work and poor households that strive to stabilize their lives.

The Organizing Committee of the Program "Tet for the Poor - Canh Ty 2020" requires mountainous, border, disadvantaged and flood-affected districts, based on the target number of households receiving gifts, to organize the selection of beneficiaries and send the list before January 12, 2020 and coordinate to give gifts to beneficiaries in time to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.

The Program Organizing Committee will invite comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of sectors and units to directly give gifts. Enterprises and units can give gifts to localities according to their own programs, but need to register with the Program Organizing Committee through the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to avoid duplication and overlap.

Gift giving time for beneficiaries is from January 6 to January 18 (ie December 12 to December 24 of the lunar calendar).

At the meeting, members of the Program Organizing Committee discussed and gave their opinions, focusing on issues of mobilization and coordination during the implementation process to ensure practical effectiveness, helping the poor and especially disadvantaged families celebrate Tet.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Bui Dinh Long said that he would advise the Provincial People's Committee to assign leaders of departments, branches and sectors to mobilize units, affiliated enterprises and cadres, civil servants and public employees to participate in supporting the poor to celebrate Tet. At the same time, he would strengthen propaganda and mobilization work on the media to attract the attention of the entire social community.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested members of the Organizing Committee of the Program "Tet for the Poor - Canh Ty 2020" to actively participate, promote a sense of responsibility, mobilize businesses, units, philanthropists and people from all walks of life to share and help the poor have more conditions to celebrate Tet.
