Woman in Nghe An died unusually on La River

On the evening of August 1, Mr. Le Van Bang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tra commune (Huong Son district, Ha Tinh) said that the identity of the woman's body floating on La river had been identified as Ms. Phan Thi Van (53 years old) - a retired army major, living in Nghia Dan district, Nghe An.

Earlier, on the morning of July 31, residents of Tung Anh Commune (Duc Tho District, Ha Tinh Province) discovered the body of a woman wearing blue cloth floating on the La River (through Tung Anh Commune) and reported it to the authorities. Because the woman did not have any identification papers on her, the authorities had to notify her and wait for her relatives to come and identify her.

Mrs. Van's brother, sister, and nephew in Son Tra commune came to recognize her and after the police examined her body, they brought her home for burial.

According to Mr. Bang: “Mrs. Van has a private house in Nghia Dan district. Recently, she visited her brother, sister and nephew living in Son Tra commune. Mrs. Van showed signs of depression. In the past few days, there has been no rain or flood in the area, so the possibility of Mrs. Van dying due to rain or flood is ruled out. It is possible that Mrs. Van died on the Ngan Sau River and then drifted down the La River. The cause of Mrs. Van's death on the river has not yet been determined."
