Mountain vegetable growers face difficulties
(Baonghean.vn) - This year, due to heavy rains and the development of pests and diseases, winter vegetable cultivation in Nghia Dan district has encountered many difficulties and even been damaged. At this time, many farmers are actively replanting to salvage their income.
Nghia Hoi is the vegetable granary of Nghia Dan, but at this time farmers are still having a "headache" because they have spent time "planting and replanting" but still cannot have a satisfactory vegetable field.
Ms. Vo Thi Hue's family in Dong Tien hamlet has more than 3 sao of vegetables of many kinds. With more than 20 years of experience growing vegetables, she has never felt so "discouraged" as this.

This is the third time the vegetable field has not grown as expected, many plants are still damaged by pests. Ms. Hue's family is very worried, because for many years now, winter vegetables have been the main source of income at the end of the year.
Identifying vegetable growing as an advantage in Nghia Hoi commune, not only because people have a tradition of growing vegetables, but also because it is located in the center of the district, so there is a large consumption market. This winter crop, the commune has planted about 60 hectares of vegetables, however, due to the prolonged rain, most of the areas have to be replanted or replanted, causing farmers to spend 2-3 times more.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy's family in Con Ca hamlet, Nghia Loc commune planted 2 sao of vegetables to serve Tet. However, this year's vegetable crop also encountered difficulties due to pests and diseases. Despite using biological products, the vegetables were still infected.

Ms. Thuy said: “This year, vegetables are difficult to grow. I do not spray pesticides to ensure quality. I only soak them in wine with hot peppers to kill pests and prevent diseases for vegetables. But this winter, growing vegetables is difficult, so income will probably decrease a lot.”
For many farming households in Nghia Dan district, winter vegetables are the main source of income. With the difficulties they are facing, localities need to strengthen guidance for vegetable growers to overcome, continue to transplant, replant and monitor the situation of pests and diseases to achieve the expected economic efficiency.
