Receiving 3 million VND to transfer 'white goods', Hai Phong female monster was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Nghe An court

On the morning of October 14, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Vu Thi Thanh (born 1968), residing in May To ward, Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong city, for the crime of "Illegal transportation of narcotics".

Before that, around mid-April 2019, Thanh and a woman named Thuy (Hai Phong City) went to the house of a man named Thang, in Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City to play. When they returned, Thuy told Thanh: "Someday, go to Thang's house to get drugs for me, I'll tell you when to go." Thanh agreed.

On the evening of May 11, 2019, Thuy called Thanh to the lottery place near the bus station in Hai Phong and said: "Tomorrow, come to Thang's house to get the items for me, I will pay you 3 million VND."

The following evening, Thanh went to meet Thuy, received 3 million VND in wages, then took a bus to Vinh City. At around 8am on May 13, Thanh went to Thang’s house and stayed there. At 9pm the same day, Thang gave Thanh a cloth bag with 2 white plastic bags inside. Thang said it was crystal meth and told Thanh: “Give it to Thuy.”

Thanh put the drugs in his bag and went out to catch a bus to Hai Phong. When he reached Hoang Van Thu Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward, he was arrested by the Mobile Police of Nghe An Province. They discovered that Thanh had 498 grams of methamphetamine and 1.2 million VND in his bag.

In court, Thanh said that she agreed to transport drugs because she was addicted to drugs. Vu Thi Thanh refused to say anything before the court deliberated.

Considering the case in its entirety, the court sentenced Vu Thi Thanh to 20 years in prison for “Illegal drug trafficking”. The court ordered the defendant to pay the 3 million VND that she benefited from the crime to the investigation agency.
