Many practical activities, multiplying sharing in Nghi Loc
(Baonghean.vn) - With many good, creative and practical ways, Nghi Loc district has promoted the strength of great solidarity, mobilized all resources to effectively carry out social security work, gradually improved people's lives, and contributed to the successful implementation of the district's socio-economic development goals.
Practical support
The family of Ms. Tran Thi Nam in Quang Trung village, Nghi Dien commune (Nghi Loc) is a household in difficult circumstances. Her husband is sick, so she alone has to support her two children's education. In 2021, Ms. Nam was supported by the district with a livelihood cow worth 15 million VND, and has now developed another calf, helping her have more conditions to escape poverty.
Ms. Nam excitedly said: “Due to difficult circumstances, my family does not have the capital to invest in livestock farming. Thanks to the superiors’ help with breeding animals and creating conditions to participate in training courses on livestock farming and care techniques, I have the opportunity to escape poverty. Without that support, I really don’t know how my family would have managed”...

In recent times, along with focusing on economic development, Nghi Dien commune has always focused on social security work. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of Nghi Dien Commune People's Committee said: "From 2021 to now, the commune has mobilized nearly 3 billion VND to support the poor in building houses, developing the economy, overcoming the effects of natural disasters and epidemics; organizing care, looking after and protecting children in difficult circumstances.
In addition, the locality fully and promptly implements regular preferential policies and regimes for people with meritorious services and their relatives; in particular, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022, the commune allocated the budget and mobilized resources to give gifts to the poor with a total value of more than 200 million VND, helping people to have a full and warm Tet holiday.

As for Ms. Nguyen Thi My, a poor household in Hamlet 7, Nghi Thach Commune, the support of 40 million VND from the Nghi Loc District Fatherland Front Committee to build a new house of gratitude is extremely meaningful. Ms. My was moved and said: “For a long time, I have wished to build a house to live in, but I have not been able to do it and thought it was hopeless. Now that the authorities and the district Fatherland Front have supported and helped me build a house, I am very grateful and I promise to try to overcome difficulties and improve my life.”
The happiness in Mrs. My’s house of gratitude as well as many policy families and households in difficult circumstances supported with livelihood models in Nghi Loc district has shown the concern of authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations. Such support not only helps to ease the pain and loss of policy families as well as share and encourage the less fortunate; but more than that, it is also a way to educate good traditions for the younger generation.

Warm and prosperous traditional Tet
Responding to the program "Tet for the poor" Spring of the Year of the Tiger 2022, with the efforts of mobilizing philanthropists, businesses, organizations, individuals and people, Nghi Loc district has mobilized 6.7 billion VND/plan of 3.8 billion VND; organized visits and presented more than 9,600 gifts to poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in the district (in which, each poor household received Tet gifts of over 1 million VND; many poor households in the communes of Khanh Hop, Phuc Tho, Nghi Hung, Nghi Xuan, Nghi Thai, Nghi Trung, Nghi Long... received Tet gifts from 2 - 6 million VND).
The district has also fully and promptly implemented policies and regimes for people with meritorious services to the revolution and social protection beneficiaries in accordance with regulations. In particular, the district has paid regular incentives to 4,785 people with meritorious services, with a total budget of more than 8.9 billion VND; paid regular social protection incentives to 9,230 beneficiaries, with a budget of nearly 4.9 billion VND; supported 65 poor households to build and repair "Dai Doan Ket" houses, with an investment of over 2 billion VND; awarded nearly 200 scholarships worth 150 million VND to poor students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies; supported medical examination and treatment, and given gifts to poor and near-poor households on holidays during the year..., contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole district to 2.74% by the end of 2022.
In order to ensure policies for people with revolutionary contributions and social security work during the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao in 2023, the district reviews and grasps information about the lives of local people; deploys social security plans, including linking the implementation of State support policies and socialized resources in the spirit of close coordination in implementing activities between the District People's Committee and the District Fatherland Front Committee; directs communes and towns in organizing implementation, promptly increasing resources for the grassroots in implementing socialization programs, regularly controlling, inspecting, and supervising activities, ensuring objectivity, timeliness, and correct targets. The district strives to mobilize support for "Tet for the Poor" of over 4 billion VND to visit and give gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged families in the district on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year of Quy Mao 2023.
In order to prepare well the conditions to serve and care for the people to enjoy Spring and welcome the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao 2023, the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Nghi Loc district are focusing on building plans, actively mobilizing organizations and individuals and arranging local budgets to take care of Tet activities.
Currently, the campaign "Tet for the Poor" Spring Quy Mao 2023 is being implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and proactively coordinating with the People's Committees and member organizations to mobilize, call for support, receive and allocate resources from units, individuals, and local donors, to promptly support each poor and near-poor household during the Lunar New Year to receive a gift worth at least 500,000 VND.

In addition, the Fatherland Front system at all levels is strengthening propaganda work to help all classes of people fully understand the meaning and purpose of the campaign, so that they pay attention to and actively support; closely coordinate with relevant sectors to conduct accurate and complete screening of households in need of support to avoid missing subjects, ensuring that everyone has a Tet. The district will establish delegations to visit policy families, poor households with especially difficult circumstances; organize incense offering and wreath laying at the district's Martyrs' Cemetery; pay attention to health care for people with meritorious services, relatives of people with meritorious services, the poor, social protection subjects...
