(Baonghean.vn) - The N5 extension connects with Ho Chi Minh road from Hoa Son commune, Do Luong district to Tan Ky district with a length of 15 km. Currently, the route has not been completed for use, although there are no-entry signs, vehicles still "carelessly" enter, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.

Reporter's notes on the afternoon of May 16,Route N5The extension connecting to Ho Chi Minh road passing through Minh Thanh and Dai Thanh communes, Yen Thanh district, Bai Son commune, Do Luong district is still under construction. Both sides of the road are posted signs "road under construction, no vehicles allowed".

However, there are quite a lot of vehicles passing through here every day, mainly motorbikes, bicycles, cars, and even a series of heavy trucks running at high speed. We did not see any construction unit or authorities reminding or requesting traffic participants.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh - residing in Lat town (Tan Ky), explained the reason for driving a motorbike on the road under construction: We saw a sign prohibiting traffic on this route, but saw many vehicles still going in, because going from Do Luong district to Tan Ky on this route shortens the distance by 7-8 km.

Along the N5 extension, passing through Minh Thanh and Dai Thanh communes of Yen Thanh district, people dry rice right on the road, posing a high risk of causing traffic accidents.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thinh Thanh Commune said: The N5 extended route passing through Thinh Thanh Commune is over 3 km long, the commune has propagated to the people in the hamlets not to travel on the road which is under construction. However, the current difficulty is that this route cuts across 7/11 hamlets of Thinh Thanh Commune, there are more than 10 crossroads from the hamlets to N5 road, people and students still have to cross to go to school, go from one hamlet to another.

The N5 extension is scheduled to be completed and put into use by the end of August 2024. Therefore, the construction unit needs to strengthen supervision and management; barricades must be placed on sections under construction that pose a safety risk; necessary warning signs must be arranged... Traffic police need to patrol and handle violations.
